Possible usb issue

Hi all, I'm having a minor issue I belive is with an aftermarket usb-c cable & dji go on my p3a, if i connect my p3a & Samsung galaxy s8 using the cable that came with the phone there are no issues whatsoever, however I have just purchased a nice coil style cable & the only thing that happens when I connect it to the controller is the phone charges! Am I missing a setting to let it transmit data etc or are galaxy s8's only compatible with the official charging/usb cable? Any help greatly appreciated

The cable might be faulty or perhaps it is charge only (no data connection). Try connecting the phone to your computer with it to confirm.
