While that would be great if the assailant was caught due to this, I find it unlikely. You gotta be extremely close to make out someone's face with most drones' cameras. At that range, it'd be pretty hard not to notice.

Agreed, though it could have confirmed clothing, and possibly height of the suspect. These are things that would come in useful when trying to connect that to other surveillance in the area and possibly to reports from other witnesses. Every little bit helps!!!
