I have a Phantom 3 pro and I purchased a polar pro gimbal guard and it would not fit so I contacted polarpro and they told me that it was the old model and he sent me the updated model I installed it today and when powering up the Phantom and the camera does its moves the camera arm just barley taps the guard so I was just wondering if this was normal

Understood. My concern for making the mod is the arm "tapping" the guard may be putting strain on the gimbal motor(s). Whether or not that is actually occurring is up to the user. Your call.
