Plug n play battery mod

The only thing I was told when offered these for testing is that they are Turnigy brand batteries!
I'll see if I can confirm that w/ Tom and send him the link to this post so maybe he can chime in as well.
My scale took a crap and I've been waiting for a Hong Kong delivery, but I'll pick one up locally tomorrow and get you a weight[emoji41]
Hi Guys,
All I can say is WOW! I didn't expect this product/service to have such a huge following. In the last 2 days I've sold out of new P3 batteries and the 5200ah lipos. I have more coming and hope to meet the demand very soon. For those of you that want your own P3 battery modified with the XT60 connector and balance lead I can still do that for you, my average turnaround is 24-48hrs.
I've added options to the P3 power mod V3 product page, you can now choose to have a new P3 modified, or send your own, choose the P3 Split Pac or 5200ah Split Pac, ect.... kind of a build your own package deal. Phantom 3 Power Mod V3 - Midwest Horizon FPV Antennas
Some of you have asked what lipo I'm using for the 5200ah, its a HK 5200ah High Voltage 10c discharge, weight after modification 449g
If you have any more questions just let me know.
Thank you to everyone.

Crap, the saddle only fits the dji split pack. Really want the saddles. Not sure what to use at this point for easy on and off the bird. Looks like I scored the last one of this kit in stock. Looking forward to it!
Whats the "saddles"? I attach all my external bats w/ white electrical tape! Easy on/off , they sit more aerodynamic, it adds NO weight which could possibly = 1 more min flight time (not proven)

I'll work on 3d printing a mount of some sort for the 5200ah, at this time I do include a flat lexan mounting plate that zip ties to the landing gear that looks similar to the image below.

It'll be interesting to see what the man comes up with, I'm sure it'll be ideal. The image that he showed would be fine, except you have to place the externals on the outside of the legs then rather than inside because it would be too tight against the gimbal with that big of a battery. So while you're waiting I encourage you to at least give the taped on idea a try, there isn't a tray yet that places them so dead center in the middle of the legs like tape does.

Not a bad idea. I have white gaffer tape to that I can use. I'll see how that works out. The drawback with this is that I have rigged up a nice way to use my polar pro light kit for night filming. I'll have to see if that can stay or go.

The modified P3 smart battery is about 377G

Thanks for the response. I'm basically wanting to find out what amount of additional weight get's added to a stock setup.

Here is what I have come up with for a mounting option with the 5200ah Split Pac

I'll get them worked into the options on the product page shortly.
That's perfect Tom, that way the batteries can sit right in between the legs and catch the least amount of wind from the props and from the front.

Nailed it!!

I believe they would also be ok placed vertically, resting on the top of the landing gear crossbar, and centered between the front and back leg's.

Explain a little, my small brain is not picturing your idea?

Obviously with the set up you're still going to need a Velcro strap or something to attach it to the landing, I would still suggest white electrical tape because of how light it is! It'll only take a second to tape it on, and any weight you can shave off will convert to minutes added!

I would suggest that too. Velcro is finicky and the two sided sticky part can actually get loose and pull off with repeated on/off. I trust it for stationary things but not on a moving aircraft.

Btw- please keep testing. I'm hoping to hear continued good times from you.

And I would love to hear from all of you who try this out, not just for distance but for flight times and please share what temps, percentages and if it doesnt live up as well! This is the place to rant good or bad![emoji41]
