P3 Firmware Phantom Professional 3 firmware upgrade, but still getting batt upgrade warning: "downgrade target version"?

Refurb Phantom Professional 3. I've done everything according to all the tutorials, etc., repeatedly, and still get a battery upgrade required warning. Also When I go to update the firmware on the unit and on the controller, I don't get any of the LED light color changes, though with the unit I do get a log. What interests me in the log is this kind of thing (at the bottom of the log):

What exactly does this mean, "use a different version of firmware to downgrade the target version"? I'm upgrading with P3X_FW_V01.11.0020.bin - this seems to be the most current upgrade, and I found it here.

If the batteries require a different firmware version, how do I learn what version it is, and where do I find it? And how to upgrade the batteries without downgrading the whole system?

I think I have succeeded in getting the #2 battery's firmware updated. I was searching in the DJI Forums and I ran across one little sentence in one answer to a similar problem. As it turns out, you must have the RC Controller TURNED OFF while doing the upgrade using the SD card in the Phantom. Otherwise, it will not read the bin file. I tried it and I got a flashing red led while it was reading the card, a steady green when it finished and the proper beeps. It also wrote the text file that showed success. I haven't flown it yet, but it is further than I've gotten before.

My guess is that the refurb unit had v1.11.30 installed by DJI as part of their refurb process. We've seen this happen a few times before.
Read this thread from a few weeks ago.

Please upload your LOG_AB file here so we can further confirm that you have v1.11.30 installed. Also, show us a screen shot of the versions showing in your app.
v1.11.30 does show on the RESULT_AB snippet you posted, so chances are obviously very high this is what is happening. Still, I personally only trust the LOG_AB file.

I tried starting up the UAV with the SD card inserted and no RC, but same result as before.

Not sure how to get a "screen grab of the versions showing in your app" - where would I look for these versions? On the DJI go app I open up the "camera" then click around til I get the opportunity to confirm that I've upgraded my firmware, and I'm told that the battery needs a firmware update. Not sure how to learn what firmware I've got via the app.

My guess is that the refurb unit had v1.11.30 installed by DJI as part of their refurb process. We've seen this happen a few times before.
Read this thread from a few weeks ago.

Please upload your LOG_AB file here so we can further confirm that you have v1.11.30 installed. Also, show us a screen shot of the versions showing in your app.
v1.11.30 does show on the RESULT_AB snippet you posted, so chances are obviously very high this is what is happening. Still, I personally only trust the LOG_AB file.

I tried starting up the UAV with the SD card inserted and no RC, but same result as before.

You probably saw this, but the LOG_AB certainly confirms what I already noted yesterday was highly likely. You have v1.11.30 installed, so trying to install v1.11.20 will always abort. It's an older version and sadly with AC v1.10 and later DJI removed the ability to easily downgrade via official means.

If I were you, I would do what I suggested yesterday and try to get 1.11.30 from DJI directly since that is what was installed when you bought the refurb. Either that, or you could make a choice to search for it here using the links I gave you yesterday as a starting point. One other option would be to downgrade using unofficial means which you can also find by searching on this forum. My take however is that getting 1.11.30 and using that to update your batteries is your best bet. It just seems much easier and safer. The choice is yours of course. Good luck!

Thanks for your help, I don't get at all why DJI doesn't simply provide v1.11.30 on the website and thus prevent the confusion. I'm tying to do all this within DJI - warranty, etc. - so I contacted customer service via chat today, and they said if I call back with my model # and the logs, they'll help me out, presumably by sending me 1.11.30. I'll post here if this works!

Update, I contacted DJI and the customer service person claims there is no version 1.11.30:

The "unofficial" (in quotes, because it does come from a DJI employee) FW package version 1.11.30 has only one difference from 1.11.20 - ESC firmwares are slightly updated. Everything else, including battery FW, has the same version within these two packages.

(not that it really matter, because from the logs above it looks like the drone gives up on 1.11.20 before even looking at the modules inside)
