P2V+ No Wifi

Hi guys as a newbee i have some questions that ill ask over a few weeks. Todays one-
My gimble camera is away to be checked over after a minor upsidedown flick from 12" off ground. However ive noticed after powering up bird and RC my fone wont conmect to the birds wifi.. does my camera need to be connected to complete a circuit for telemetry etc...Hopefully thats all thats wrong now

Yes, the gimbal is needed to complete the circuit.
