I was recently given an old phantom 2 vision plus. The drone was given to me by a friend who hadn’t used it in quite some time and wasn’t even sure if it worked anymore. I have several questions about how to get it ready to fly. The remote looks very similar to that of the phantom 3 except it has a weird range extender thing on the corner. What do I do with that? Also I have downloaded the dji vision app but am not sure how to connect the app to the drone? The drone came with 4 batteries 3 of which don’t light up at all even after having been charged for a good hour. Do they need more time or are they shot? I appreciate any input anyone has. Thanks.

I'm not really a P2 Vision+ man, but here's a link to the manual download to help you get started.

Here's another link to a search I did using the search facility here (magnifying glass, top right, keywords 'P2 vison+"). The more searching and reading you do, the more you will learn :)

Hopefully someone else will be along soon to perhaps help with your other questions.

Most likely the batteries that don’t light up are shot. Others might help you try to bring them back to life. YouTube videos are going to be your best bet starting out. You have a lot to learn. And I’m sure other help is on the way here. Is the weird extender thing fastened to the handle underneath? If it is, it’s supposed to hold your phone. A picture would help. Have fun fly safe.

I have the same Wi-Fi extender but have no idea how to use it. Can’t find a name on it and found nothing like it online. Mine mounts entirely different and looks like it replaces the original stick antenna. It’s tubular in shape, with no wires. The extender itself is identical to the one above.Any ideas on where to look would be helpful.

Capt KO can you post a picture I've never seen a different one but others here most likely will know the maker of it

Thank you, I was able to figure it out from the picture. Glad somebody did that so I know what I have. My mount is the same.
Love this site, hang around long enough and all your questions are answered.
I now I have a functioning range extender on my P3S for the first time.

I still have P2V+ and it flies and takes photos and vids fine. A couple points:
1.) The controller needs to be charged -- plug at the bottom. The light will turn from red to green when it's charged. A usb cable should have come with the drone.
2.) The range extender needs to be charged. That's the little box mounted above and to the right. Its light will turn from orange to green when it's charged.
3.) Once you've loaded the Vision app, and turned the controller and range extended on, you should be able to log the phone into the "phantom" network. You're phone should show in on its list of available networks. Then launch the app.
4.) If the lights on the battery don't come on when you plug the charger in -- starting with one light flashing...then two, and so on -- then the battery is probably bad. If the lights do comes on, they will go off when the battery is fully charged.

Good luck.
