Yes it does stop - just hold it there. As soon as the motors have stopped get the catcher to turn off the battery on the Phantom before you do anything else. You don't want RTH or something silly kicking in when you are holding it!

Thanks! Just realized that I control and catch the quad by myself. That's why I couldn't concentrate on turning off the motor while catching the quad at the same time.
 
Unless landing on a flat, level surface, a tip over is always possible. The Phantoms narrow stance has always played havoc and most have had a tip over at least once during ownership, many have had more than a few. Hand catching is always an option, just make sure you're prepared and don't attempt to pull down stick until you have a firm grip on your Phantoms leg.
