Could be trees of the same kind. I don't think there is any gold filter otherwise everything would be a little goldish. Here in Europe larch trees are always of the same bright yellow.

I was just joking. In the eastern US we have more of a mixture of different trees. Which means more different colors. We have larch trees also. Many times we call them Tamarack.

Probably has more to do with weather than tree species.
 
The colours of leaves in autumn can vary very much - brown, yellow, red, etc.
