I just broke my previous record. Got 18,350 ft. Doubt I can push it further because auto land kicks in at this point.

I hate auto land.

Stock with windsurfer. Lightbridge is so **** good, that I don't see the point of doing a DBS mod, unless you do a battery mod.

I definitely think it'd be a whole different ballgame for some of us if you could change the auto land to even 5%! For some of us long-distance flyers 10% usually means you're fighting the descend for almost 2 miles[emoji41]

I wish you could change it to 5% also...I was fighting the descent on a flight this week trying to get to a good landing spot and I got the propulsion output limited message. I was afraid of it dropping out of the sky so I backed off on the sticks a little bit. Got her down safely though.

For the future Dennybo, you don't have to back off(although it might make a message go away quicker) message lets you know that the aircraft already backed up for you.
However, if you have your battery voltage on the screen, which I strongly recommend to everyone, it will show you the voltage of your lowest cell, if you see a drop-down in the red, then you should ease up a little. Yeah, I think 5% would be decent

Thanks DB...I have the voltage on the main screen and also have the battery page mapped to the C2 button so I can look at it from time to time. I don't recall it being red but I'd have to look at the log to see.

If my batteries are healthy, usually only see the voltage drop when climbing too hard with a real heavy battery load or fighting real strong winds with a heavy battery load. But for the propulsion output limit message you'll see the aircraft has already slowed down a little.

Real funny Mark! A few people may listen to what I'm saying, but I still listen when Marknmd speaks! No seriously, anytime I see you on a post I check in!

Seriously, when you think about all those guys down at "Milestone Place" down in Florida who meet regularly - guys like DBS Mods, UC and unnamed others - hell, even Jon Weigel, who lives in California and flew all the way to Florida apparently just for the privilege to fly with the pros in the southeast for a weekend. These are all competent guys - guys who have smarts but also the nerves to take their crafts to the limit. You take all those guys, put them all together trading hints and tips, privately advising each other on props and battery mods and tweaks and flight paths and what-not, and ... what happens? One guy working by himself in the lonely state of Iowa wipes 'em all out. It's a pretty significant accomplishment.

Very kind praise from you Mark!
But just for the record, unknown caller from Florida has shared his secrets on this forum with all of us, and his wisdom, tips, and generosity has helped me tremendously. As have many other members on this forum, some who may not even fly long-distance. As far as the secret club, I'm sure there's things I've learned from them as well that they hadn't even shared, if nothing else through their competition! And I'll admit, I've learned most of it the old fashion way, through lots of trial and error, and lots of crashes[emoji41]
