I can't get the POI mode. I have controller set to multiple flight mode. I take off in P mode, get over subject, then put in F mode, with the S1 switch, but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong.

When you flick your switch all the way down to F-Mode do you get the quadcopter icon left side of the screen? Under the return home button
If we're talking about DJI GO (which I assume you are), this is how you do POI.
Take off, get about 15m off ground then flip S1 to F mode. Click the new 'multiple flight mode icon' (looks like the RC) that pops up when you do that and select POI. Fly over subject, hover, set settings and then click 'apply'.
Also make sure that if you have only recently installed the app that you go into the settings and click 'enable multiple flight modes' otherwise you won't get the RC Icon on the left of your screen (below RTH and autoland icon)
