My solution to the RX100 photography problem

Thanks for the Droneexpert mount RX100 review. As a result, I am collaborating with a professional mechanical engineer to design an alternative. Our camera of choice will not be the Sony RX100, but the Ricoh GR, though. Unless you find the need to shoot the RX100 at a focal other than 28mm, the GR is a much better choice. Besides having a sharper lens and a larger sensor for the same total weight and size, it has analog video out, which makes it a breeze to use FPV. For the shutter, you have the choice of an electric trigger (no need for and awkward button pusher) or built-in intervalometer.
 
fantastic thread, and very interesting reading. I have recently purchased a Phantom 2 but want to use it primarily to get stills using an RX100. I am glad you said about the RX100 mark 2 being heavier as I was going to purchase this but would rather stick with the original for lightness.
