It is quite simple...you guys should consider diy!! I can't imagine screwing anything up other than sketchy connections which can easily be corrected

Glad to hear it.
TIP: As you are taking it apart have the video playing right in front of you. Pause the video for every single step. Rewind if you have to.
When I did my Alfa antenna mod on my Professional remote.... that's exactly what I did. It turned it into a simple process.

Ok, done. It was relatively straight forward. The most awkward part was removing the silicone. See photos below. It's night time now so test flight will have to wait till tomorrow.

Permissions correctly set now.
The test flight went well today. I still think there's something fundamentally wrong with my phantom.
Before the mod, the furthest I've every flown it has been circa 300m.
I may get the odd 150m
Usually it will start to RTH due to RC signal loss by around 70m.
After the mod I was able to fairly consistently get it to fly to 150m without RTH too much. I ran out of time to push it any further.

Wow. You should be getting at minimum 3000 feet (whatever that is in meters) with the ARGtek.
Try bringing it to a different area. Maybe there is something majorly interfering with it where you are trying to fly???
