I just installed my brand new gimbal on phantom - a piece of junk. It jumps, makes terrible noise and vibrations. I tried it with and without that stabilizer board. no difference. a mad dance. just see it and enjoy.
what a crap quality control they have. my first phantom had screwed remote unit - and you guys told me how to fix it. now, second phantom has a junk gimbal. so bloody sad.

My local model store had 13 of these on their desk today and I was like what are they for? He said they are returns, we ordered 26 and so far have had 13 returns :/

Yeah, I'm in nervous mode with my purchase. When I first installed mine, it would go crazy. This was turning on without camera in. I put the gopro in, and then it was fine, but my first flight was awful looking, with jello and bad ticks from the gimbal. I think that was caused from starting it up in tall grass, because ever since It's been fine. As to the initial problems, not sure if that was because the camera wasn't plugged in, which seems silly, or if it's an omen of things to come.

Your lense cap/filter might be part of the issue. The new H3 3D is super lightweight and any added accessries can make it oscilate. I'm not defending DJI and their quality control (we all know that) but I have H3 3D and have zero issues with it. Check other posts re: H3 issues - guys using filters are having to add coins taped to camera to offset weight to keep it from going into convulsions.

thanks for your note. I have it with and without the lens cap - which I use only for storage.
so, unfortunately it is not as easy as it seems.
it also happened before and after firmware update for gimbal. so, I say - it is toasted. expensive piece of junk.

Counterpoint:

Running a H3-3D with a ND filter - no counterweights and it performs flawlessly, just as it does without the filter.

which proves I just got a piece of expensive junk. no quality control, and no guts to say they f...ed it up.

Out of interest;

1) Have you done any updates for it? What gimbal firmware are you running?
2) What Phantom 2 firmware are you running?
3) Is this a v1.0 H3-3D, i.e, external / back plug in the GoPro?

Could you also answer the above questions for comparison.

I also am seeing this with my h3-3d that came with the new phantom 2. Its, you can hear it in the videos when its on the ground and before the props are on and lift off. Its like something is just not right.

I have the same settings as above. Wish i'd never put it on now! I think i'll record the problem and email the supplier showing the problem and get a refund or replacement.

Glad you have posted this! I have the same problem:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIw7PrN_d60

Have sent it in for RMA, we will see what happens.

Regarding the ND Filter: Why don't you guys build our own ND filter? You can take the plastic lens cap of the GoPro and cut of the front part, use the plastic ring to glue a normal ND Filter glas .06 on. Just buy a normal ND filter, cut the aluminum ring, use a dremel tool to cut the glas to the size of the diameter of the go pro lens-cap ring and glue it on. Mine weighs like 4 grams. With this weight the H3-2D worked flawlessly and I was impressed with jello-free 2.7k video, see here:

I've sent my video direct to DJI as a problem report. My get a respond or not, who knows....
