Lost control P4P Then limited to 7mph and 3 down

Looks like an IMU problem (First thing was an exception in the IMU, then YAW errors, you should recalibrate everything. I was instructed to recal sticks, IMU, Compass and all, after the big update.

So if it happens again what is the correct procedure to get it back safely? (Not real confident about this gadget right now)

You should have control of the craft when in ATTI. You can fly the craft back easily in ATTI if you have orientation from the screen view, or VLOS. This is a little more difficult in high wind, but doable.

When the craft goes into ATTI, simply fly it back using the display to fly FPV, and use the radar screen to confirm craft orientation back to home, if it's working. Since you never lost GPS, your map should also help orient you with the drone location. The whole time you were in ATTI you should have had a camera view, correct? Use the camera to fly back home.

This is where it pays to have experience flying in ATTI, which isn't that difficult. If you don't have experience with ATTI, focus on understanding ATTI asap, and get comfortable with it.

If higher wind it present during an ATTI flyback, it may be safer to fly the craft into some bushes (assuming you can find some), versus trying to land it on the ground near people or property, as compensating for wind during an ATTI ground landing can be risky.

First off, never fly with a battery at 75%, always start with a fresh battery.
Second, you should recalibrate the IMU now, not wait for another instance. I would recalibrate everything, sticks, IMU, compass and then try again.
You don't ignore problems, you fix them.

Well, I recaiibrated the IMU and it made no difference, Called DJI and they said whenever you upgrade the software you should delete the DJIGO program and reload it. which i did and no difference. Unit still fast forwards on P at 7 mph and descends at .3 mph. S is still fast as is A Unit descends slowly, then speeds up for 20 feet or so then slows down on P.
Climbs fast like it used to. Cant trust it. Packing it up and shipping to DJI.

Just so you know, I did not buy the DJI insurance program, but since the unit is not yet 1 year old, DJI support notified me that repairs will be covered by DJI. Thanks DJI!

That is sooo, strange, the actual warranty on all P4-P4P is only 6 months. But, that is a good thing!

FYI: Returned P4P still doesn't fly rite. Negotiating with DJI who has agreed to try again if it still doesn't work after their re-initialization instructions...it didn't!
