I have just got Litchi and have created a mission. Can anyone explain whether height between two waypoints is gradual or sudden. I want to fly at 170' between two points and then descend to 20' hover then climb to 100' to the next waypoint.

Hi!
The best way to "learn" Litchi is to go to an open field and play with its features with simple missions and try it out.
The ascents and descents are gradual.
The gimbal movements are sudden (the gimbal goes to the set angle) unless you set it to "interpolate".
In this way the gimbal movements will be smooth as they can be.
Take note that:
a) The speed of ascents and gimbal movements depend on the distance between the waypoints (but you can specify the speed for every waypoint!)
b) From the Litchi manual:
You can specify the gimbal pitch angle at this waypoint. For "Interpolate" to work, the previous or next waypoint need to be set to "Interpolate" as well. Litchi will then automatically adjust the gimbal pitch angle to start and end at the specified angles, and smoothly transition while travelling between the two waypoints.

Here on of my very first attempts with litchy waypoints: I love Litchi!

Always speaking abut gimbal movements, take note that in the litchi hub site, or in the app (way more annoying), if you use POIs, you have to set the gimbal mode to "POI" and then to "Interpolate", otherwise it don't get the right angle value..

The beauty of the waypoint missions is their replicability. After a successful mission you can edit that specific waypoint, that specific speed, or altitude, gimbal direction and so on, until you get the perfect shot.
In my opinion the best way to achieve great footage is to mentally split the mission in several movements, more than try to get a (almost always BORING!!) single long video.
Think of a place you know well , with enough room for error (GPS imprecision or waypoint ) with less trees, rocks and other phantom magnets, plan your mission in the litchi hub any try, with a finger on the switch to gain manual control if something goes wrong..

Plan a basic mission, with one or two points of interest, with 3 or 4 waypoints, at different altitudes and set the gimbal to poi and the to interpolate.
Than duplicate that mission (when you try to save it it ask for the name, say no and choose another name) and edit it to disable the gimbal, so you have the control of it
P.s.:Note that the gimbal movement on my litchi is very very slow...

The beauty of the waypoint missions is their replicability...........to a certain extent. I'v been flying the same 3000ft mission since summer. I'm making a time lapse of the seasons. Anyway everything was fine for the first 2 flights, then I had a firmware update. Needed to do an IMU Calibration along with the gimbal. The thru it all a few degrees, I've been fighting it every since. I also find if you fly 6mph or slower you'll get the smoothest moments.

Here are some examples, all of these were hands off missions with the exceptions of cuts and edits.

Time lapse....not complete yet.....

Wow! Excellent use of Litchi (and Phantom)
The one with the SS United States is breathtaking!

The change of seasons is a great idea indeed, i'm thinking of something involving one day, with a single movement repeated in several different hours of the day..

Great work!!

Thanks, I need a few more. This weekend I'll get one with no leaves, then this winter I'll get a snow shot, then a couple more in the spring. I can finally wrap it up.

I actually started it out over a year ago. However about 6 months in my iPad crashed, I loaded everything back but for what ever reasons my Saved Missions, I had about 6 failed to reinstall. I was fit to be tied. Had to start all over

Look in file mngr on that device. look in other folders in missions, might be named differently, could be in there.

Thanks, nope.....I went thru everything. Oh well.....hopefully this round will turn out OK. I need to really go back and correct some of the video editing. The horizon tilt among a few others things throw off the alignment some. The Litchi software is great!....love it.

I agree with that one. On phone, go to files, litchi and then search from there. Any chance you can get it from mission hub on laptop

If it is still on HUB, open it on HUB, re-save. it'll then go to tablet/phone. (Good one Neon)
