I like using both the Litchi and Ultimate Flight apps because they provide continuous verbal status readouts while in flight and report the moment I unexpectedly drop out of GPS mode and into ATTI mode due to a drop in sats. That gives me the most time to react to the situation, rather than just happening to notice the low sat count on the screen if I had been looking up at the bird. (Also, the lights sequence is usually too far away for my eyes to pick up in daylight.)
