Is a lens hood required for P3?

How has everyone been finding the prop shadow and flicker? Have they adjusted the design so a lens hat is no longer required?

So far I have not seen any flicker.

flicker doesn't occur on mine unless I am pushing the bird in a forward and upward position aggressively. I'd also lower the camera a bit to remove sky to minimize. Normal gentle flight, I don't see it.
