I have tested with iOS 10 on iPhone 6 Plus and all is ok. Technically it should be ok for iOS 7 too if not better.

Any 9.7" iPad will fit in the controller, if you have a 12.9 Pro, then just buy an extension like this, it works great

Yep used that extension today with an air 2 with otter box case. I may just have to open it up a little to lock down the case better. It's a little narrow for the thickness of the case.

Check with msinger, he could probably 3D print you a custom one that would work on an tablet with a case on it
