ipad over heating

Heat can cause this, if you have a case on it or use it in direct sunlight it can overheat, but usually you will get the overheating warning.

no warning I have had the green screen glitch sense new last month no problems flying with galaxy s7 but purchased a ipad mini 2 and started having the problem alot of people say it's to do with the HD setting and that the ipad mini 2 is getting old so I purchased a mini 4 and the same problem but I am noticing in the morning or first afternoon flight before Ipad gets hot all is good and I came across drone u the had a video and they mentioned that ipad was not the best choice for flying if you live where it's hot but I do like the simplicity of ipad so I am going to monitor this more and may invest in a cooling system

I've found flying from a shady spot or using a hood really helps the heat issue. When that screen is exposed to direct sunlight is when the temp really starts rising.

I was flying 2 days ago in direct sun in 90+degrees in Clearwater, Florida with the ipad mini 2 and had same problem. I often have this issue flying here which makes it difficult to do video when its freezing, glitchy, pixelated. I had a Hoodman hood on but it doesn't cover the backside. Someone suggested Caldera Gp602 6" X 6" Therapy Gel Packs and somehow adhere to the back.

I have also heard to activate or de-activate my hardware decoder on my ipad mini but I have no idea where those settings are located, anyone? Does this help?

What other options are available that will operate better in places like Florida where its always hot and sunny?

If you don't need to add any 3rd party apps (like Drone Deploy, Litchi etc) the new Crystal Sky 1000 is a best and it performs just as well in direct sunlight as it does in the shade. Even when the unit is over 110 degrees it still performs.
