no. you can cache your location by scrolling through the map while on wifi and zooming in to get the detail. If you fly to an area you haven't cached, you wont have map function in the pilot app. .....but, with ground station coming out, you may want a plan to use more accurate waypoints. Since some missions may require a more precise location.
