Integrated Camera/Gimbal On A Phantom FC40

I have a Phantom FC40 that's in great condition. When I first bought it I used the FC40 camera but quickly moved to a GoPro for higher quality pics/videos and better control via the GoPro app. My question is, is it possible to retrofit an older model Phantom like this one with a more feature rich camera including an RC gimbal so the camera isn't just pointing in the direction the drone is headed? Yes, you can fit a gimbal and GoPro to the P1. You can also modify the P1 Controller to adjust the gimbal during flight. I purchased a cheap 2 axis gimbal from China and used a GoPro 3 Black. The other P1 I have still uses the FC40.
