A friend asked me if my drone (P4P) or any other can be setup to view in infrared. I have no idea. He wants to use an infrared drone for security surveillance in low light or at night. Can it be done?

You cannot see infrared with the visible light camera on your drone.
You would need a drone with an infrared camera like this:

Autel Evo 2 duo also has thermal capabilities... but I returned mine and am awaiting the pricing on the new Mavic 2EA and mentioned above by Meta4

Absolutely, there are thermal FLIR cameras, however the cameras start around 7K.

Seek in Google at "DSRL Pro Thermal kit" and" FLIR Thermal Imagine Gimbal for DJI Phantom".
A possible solution but seems to be a little heavy resulting in shorter time in the air.
