Icon in lower right corner of DJI Go map screen???

Hi-
I am a new owner of a Phantom 3 Standard (using the updated firmware). What is the purpose of the small icon in the lower right corner of the DJI Go map screen? See the screen capture from my iPhone attached below.

It erases the flight path that is drawn on your map as you fly your Phantom.
