How do I register my new DJI drone?

You turn it on and connect to the app.
If it requires activation, it will tell you.

Right. The warranty starts after you buy the drone from DJI or activate it after buying from another seller.

Thanks everyone. I purchased a drone from a private party. Has less than 30 mins flying time. Seems to be in perfect shape. It powered up ready to fly. Do I need to de-activate it and then activate it under my name or DJI account?

OK, took care of that. Heading out to fly it this morning.

No. It can only be activated once in DJI GO. Since the original owner already activated it, DJI GO won't prompt you to activate it.

The warranty period started when the original owner purchased the drone. Make sure you get a copy of the original sales receipt. DJI will likely ask you to provide that if you contact them for warranty service.

So, interesting thing. Every single time I fire up Go and connect my P4 I’m told that I’m within 48 hours of first activating my drone and should register it. Which I’ve done. But I still get the messAge, every time. Weird....
