Hi guys,

Had my first crash yesterday and broke a few parts around the camera (gimbal seems fine).

Went to pick it up and saw some smoke coming from the disconnected camera cables so I shut the drone off immediately. Looked closer and the cables were starting to melt.

I also see a red light at the bottom of the drone which I don't recall seeing before.

I'm attaching a few pictures. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks! Question, will I need to open the shell for the repair or are the cables connected on the outside?

I don't think you need to open the shell but you might be required to open VPS cover.

Gimbal is a delicate part and it may require careful realignment after such a crash.

How did the crash happen?

Sorry just checked on this thread. 15 to 20 ft un the air a small branch hit the propeller and the Drone hit the ground.

Cables dont melt for no reason. They melt because there is a short circuit somewhere. Sure you can replace the cables, but if that short is still there, they will just melt again. I tend to want to fix everything myself, but in this case, Id send it to a specialist and brace for a hefty price tag as most likely at least some PCBs will be toast..
