Welcome to the forum!

Phantoms and DJI in general offer complete solutions. In other words, they have the camera built-in. The provide the entire package and they work extremely well as a result.

If you need to use your GoPro you should look at GoPro's drone, but it had a massive recall and the future is uncertain. The same goes for 3DR's Solo project (discontinued). There are probably other lesser-known drones that can accommodate a GoPro.

GoPro changed the size and weight of their camera with this new model. It may not fit or balance well in gimbals designed for the earlier models. I have considered getting the GoPro 5 or GoPro Session 5 for my waterproof quads since these GoPro models are waterproof without a housing. So far I have only found two gimbals to fit the Session.
The GoPro 5 does have image stabilization so it might give acceptable video in some cases without a gimbal. It could be mounted on an older Phantom 1 or 2.
The other option is to build your own quad. There are lots of kits available.

Long story short, it could be WAY more trouble than it's worth, and also very expensive, to find a solution just to make your GoPro work.

But if you simply have a desire to make really great aerial videos, I highly recommend instead just getting a Phantom 3 Standard for $399 or even a Phantom 3 Advanced or Pro if you need better range and quality. You'll get out-of-the-box-ready, soup-to-nuts solutions that work great. The only thing you need additionally is a smartphone or tablet.

Phantom 3 standard you can get it tin it fairly inexpensive as far as drones go I mean let's face it drones are expensive right now. I have a standard and added a little modification to my antenna I get awesome photos and great video.

I didnt even know that was a Hero 5.

Im out of touch.

I would definately echo what everyone on here has had to say; the camera on the Phantom 3 gives a Hero4 a run for its money and one could argue the Phantom 4 is better.

Pick up a Phantom 3 for $400 and get flyin!

Get a used P2.
Get the GoPro Grip ($460 USD).
http://shop.gopro.com/APAC/stabilization?utm_campaign=ET_Product_Launch_Karma-Grip;APAC;All;All;All;All_12152016&utm_medium=email&ExactTarget=true&utm_source=Product&utm_content=http://shop.gopro.com/stabilization
Get some cable ties.
Hit record and fly!!!

But I agree with everyone else...
Drones are cheaper now.
Get a dedicated aerial machine like a P3Adv.
And leave the GoPro for grounded/underwater shots.

Far to much added weight for a P2 and the hero 5 isn't worth the money.
