Read it all, then go back over it. it worked out great for me and I'm using a cheap Chinese gimbal with a GoPro 3 Silver edition.
I did buy the upgraded TX with the thumb wheel to pitch the camera up and down. I also use the GoPro Smart Remote to control the camera functions.
Just remember, after it is all set up, turn on the GoPro first everytime so you will get video in FPV.
On the IOS, you have to use FPV Booster App, but on Andriod, you use the DJI Vision App.

Just need a $10 15 cm zemuse part 3 cable pack and Zenmuse H3-3D 1.1 or H4-3D gimbal.
Works like normal except no camera setting controls. Tilt works fine with new and old remote. Enable on screen display on the gopro so you can see the record button. Helps in the case you forget trigger before take off.
Everything is reversible and you are no longer stuck with a permanent camera.
