Hello,

I found this setup for $800 locally. Is it a good deal or setup for a n00b?

DJI Phantom
GoPro silver camera
Professional carrying case (with locks)
Transmitter/controller
LiPo batteries (6 total)
Battery charging stations (5 total)
Cords for GPS/software calibration
Extra screws, propellors, propellor protectors, landing gear, etc.

While the deals on Amazon don't include all of those extras, you could buy a brand new Phantom and purchase the extras separately for about that same price.

Or, check with a DJI dealer if you have any locally.

I would wait until after the release on Friday and then check the prices on a new phantom. There's no carfax for phantoms "phantomfax" to show what it has been through as far as accidents or changes made. When your spending that much money on something you want to know everything that has happened. If any thing just for piece of mind.

Get a Phantom FC40 if you're ok with 10 minute flight times. It comes with it's own camera and you can get a new one for $499 if not cheaper.

Here's a couple videos from one of my flights with the FC40 completely stock and unedited.

summer flight
winter flight

I love my fc40, the fpv image is a bit laggy from the stock camera tho. I use multistar 4000mah battery and get 18 min flight time when using 9450 props
