Now it's blowing 50 to 60 miles an hour here...

AND IT'S SNOWING

Dirk, You have to wash that truck once and a while. Just look at it, it is all covered with white crap.

 Ok TJ enough with the blowing now !

Happy. Usually the only white crap we get on our trucks are from birds !

Geez TJ, you and those darn blowing machines.

We're at 11 heading down to 4 tonight.
At least the wind settled down a bit, gusts up to 35 instead of 60.

We've been below freezing since about 2 AM and the creek is still flowing like mad. It's very strange to see water flowing freely without a layer of ice covering it.

I wonder what the ice dams are looking like in the Dakotas. :(

Shhhhhhh! Don't tell Dirk I have these set up around the perimeter of his property.
Must have !! Had my grandboys till about 1PM today and had to take them home . About 5 miles and roads had done got kinda bad for here and snow coming down hard . Went to leave there coming home and **** wiper came loose in their driveway !! On my side too
Did get here and took about 3 hours to fix it with just the front end of the truck in the carport and this is what TJ did that fast
We just don't get that here and it shut the whole town down just about !
All was well till about 5:45 and the power went out and we just got it back at 11:23
Don't know just what we did get but around 10" is what I guess and that's nothing like you'll get but ****
Gonna be funny tomorrow as none of that melted and the roads are gonna be bad so just gonna take my 4WD and Ken Block all over town and try and get some pictures with Mia :D

You bad man

Keep that white stuff away from me please! It already takes me a good 10 minutes to walk to the car with all the super slick ice everywhere. Might have to get the cats together and make a sled cat team if it doesn't unfreeze soon.

Your never gonna believe this but it has been done!

BEND, OR (AheadOfNews.com) - Dog mushers expressed dismay yesterday when a sled pulled by Siberian cats won the Atta Boy 300 Sled Dog Race in central Oregon.

Rachel Tucker of Baker City, Ore., was allowed to enter the race with her 200-cat team as a publicity stunt. Apparently no one except Tucker expected her to win.

"I told the puppy lovers to watch out, that these cats were for real, but they thought I was joking," said Tucker, also known as "Fur Muffin."

Tucker and her Silver Classic Tabby Kravchenko Siberians took the lead during the first stage of the race, a 47-mile loop around Mount Bachelor, and increased it during each subsequent stage. They completed the entire 300-mile course in just over 22 hours, about an hour ahead of the nearest dogs.

"I've never seen anything like it," said Mike Kensington of Bear Creek, Yukon Territory. "My poor Huskies almost died of embarrassment."

Tucker credited the success of her cats to "vigorous training in the Wallowas," mountains in eastern Oregon, and to the "agility, speed, and large size" of the Kravchenkos. These animals, bred as "watch cats" in Russian monasteries centuries ago, have "enormous potential in sled racing," she said.

To develop that potential, Tucker plans to establish a Sled Cat Degree Program on a cat ranch near Baker City. Qualified cats will work toward one of three degrees: Sled Cat, Sled Cat Excellent, or Sled Cat Outstanding.

She hopes to enter her team later this year in the Iditarod, the 1,150-mile race from Anchorage to Nome.

Meanwhile Kensington and other traditional mushers wonder about the future of their sport.

"I suppose next year we'll have to race against mice," he lamented, shaking his head.

Whoa! So you're telling me that someone actually got 200 cats to actually listen AND work with each other? That's simply amazing! Could you imagine if someone did that with a buggy like Amish people ride in? I think I have a new life goal now. ;)
