Gimbal Status: Disconnected / won't recognize SD card

Has anyone else had a problem with their P4P not recognizing SD cards or getting the "Gimbal Status : Disconnected" error? I have tried several SD cards including the one that came with the P4P but the Go 4 app always shows "No SD Card". The App also always shows the gimbal disconnected status. I do have a video feed. This is a brand new P4P. Hasn't been flown yet. I have finally updated all the firmware, although that was a frustrating process with multiple "update failed" errors on both the Go 4 app and DJI assistant 2. At first I had no video feed either but that was solved with the RC update. So I think i'm making baby steps at least. I would love to get this bird in the air!

I have the exact same problem with my p4p obsidian! I always have to restart the aircraft several times with remote left ON, then suddenly it works. have you found out anything new about this failure?
