I think it's great that your teaching the grandkids to fly! It's a good and useful skill, fun too. And it's an opportunity to teach something about being thoughtful, careful, and considerate of others. I have no grandkids, so I fly for myself. I live not far from the location where we had fireworks a few weeks ago, and there is a large adjacent open area. So I was able to do a very safe night flight, catching the fireworks from an almost equal altitude.
