Tiny Blacksheep NANO pcm handles the cameras settings with a Mamba Crossfire RC. The 4 switches across the top do the 8 camera settings. Various settings are programmed with the Flir app. Flir documentation calls for MAVLINK, but I get GPS data from the drone app so i didnt go with it. Flir GPS data is only encoded on still photos, not on video file. I can screenshot the app to record GPS in a SAR situation. The video transmitter is TANK SOLO mounted on a heat sink. The ground station is a RAPIDFIRE diversity goggle module only, no goggles, wired to a large monitor. Flight time is reduced by approx 20 %. I'm in hill country so range is limited. Have not tested video range on flat ground.

I did a little search history from your past posts, I few I did recognize.
I always wanted to mess with FLIR.

Are you going share some FLIR footage, or is this already my head?

Looking forward to your pics and/or vids. Been interested in FLIR and LIDAR add-ons for drones, especially with the load carrying capabilities of Phantoms, on the cheap. Where else can you get drone that carries a kilo for a few hundred bucks.

I'm with you. I have a P2 with go pros and or fpv and 3 P3P's. Working on repairing a 4th. Wrecked P3's are plentiful.
What would be awesome is for some electronic genius to make a circuit board
to replace the 4k camera and gimbal. This would VASTLY simplify using add on devices. I'm a huge fan of programmed flight, and Dji go and Litchi don't allow this without the gimbal. Why is a video signal
required? Maybe it's a signal from the sensor board that passes thru the gimbal
that is required. Seems doable but WAY ABOVE my capabilities.

Some Stuff I don't understand.
We have to communicate with the drone to load the mission and press run.
Where is this mission getting loaded to?
Is the gimbal required just for the loading of the mission?

Apps both say """ Disconnected"""
Other data is missing, such as the battery and satellite data, so it's just not the video feed. I'd remove the camera from the gimbal and see what happens, but I don't want to mess with the flat cable.

You can't the apps to work with everything that would be a normal connection?

You can't get the apps to work with everything that would be a normal connection?
or
If the drone is set up normal, can you get the apps to connect?

I'm confused also, on how to asked the question

I different direction is the remote connecting to the drone?

Both apps work fine when the gimbal and camera are on the drone.

Got it now, your disconnecting the gimbal and camera.

P3S stuff.

They send a lot of stuff through the gimbal, I know there are a few members hear that know a lot about the communications of the P3A, P3P, etc.

Good info. It appears that you can remove the camera but keep the gimbal and have proper app flight functions. Saves weight and makes room for a different camera.
