Hi guys, I have the P2V and I'm about to download all the files I needed for the first time. I've been reading a lot of posts and it seems that when people updated various newer versions there were issues. Unfortunately I didn't write down the bad update versions I should avoid. I'm asking people to reply to this post and tell me which update versions not to use. Which versions gave them problems. Thanks in advance to people who reply.

These are the DJI
release notes for the firmware updates for the P2V.

BUT.....as a rule.....if it flies fine with no issues....DON'T mess with it.

I have P3's, so specific questions regarding firmware issues with the P2 should be addressed by other members.

Remember, the P2V is no longer supported by DJI. They cannot help you if you 'brick' it. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I've had this thing a year and finally got everything I needed to fly it. at least I think I did and find out I need something else or run into a problem. I bought the new propellers,a new Range Extender(what a pain in the butt that was)2 older cell phone for viewing, the first one was wrong. I downloaded the files but can't open them because I need windows and have a Chromebook..I don't know what the guy I bought it from was flying this thing under as far as firmware version. I decided to fly it anyway and find there's no video feed from the camera and 3 wifi scanners I downloaded are not picking up the hidden signal from the camera so I cant bind it. I decided I'm just going to do what ever I can with it and if oit flys away...I'll get it back. I always do. I tape a message on top with my phone number and a message that says "if found please text DRONE to this cell. I had 14 drones and always got them back when they flew away. longest it took was 2 weeks....it was up on my own roof and I didn't know it.Thjanks again for the reply.

You need to use a scanner that can see hidden wifi SSID's, not all do, the wifi for dji drones start with 60 60, as a rule, dont have the range extender on looking for the wifi from a vision camera.

Their is a fix for the loss of video feed here is my guide

Thanks for the reply Crash. I know not all wifi scanners pick up the SSID. I'm having a hard time finding the InSSIDer app. I also know that DJI starts it's SSIDs with 60.60. and not to have the range extender nor the controller on when using the wifi scanner.
The first time I tried to bind the camera and new extender I accidentally put in the last 3 sets of numbers of the Range Extender SSID instead of the last 3 sets of the camera SSID. The binding process went perfect except for the very last part when I had to reconnect to the Phantom in my phone wifi list (I followed with OKSTUV in his video on 'WHAT A SUCCESSFUL BINDING LOOKS LIKE'). My WRONG Phantom SSID showed up as NOT IN RANGE in my phone wifi list. Is it possible that the wifi scanners are seeing the hidden SSID named with the wrong last 3 SSID sets of numbers I put in and not showing the real camera SSID CAUSE the last 3 sets of numbers are wrong and don't match the last 3 sets in the PHANTOM wifi name?

OKSTUV replied to someones help request (I quote)"whenever NO telemetry and an error in the camera section of the DJI Vision app saying Connection Broken, then binding is your problem. However if you see telemetry, but a blank FPV, then it's usually a sign that your module needs repair or your connections are bad." (end quote). I have NO telemetry and an error in my camera section of the DJI Vision app saying Connection Broken.
That's why I've been trying so hard to find the hidden camera SSID and try binding the range extender again. I bought the drone second hand it only came with the remote and a broken propeller...NO range extender. The QR code under the drone comes up as "INVALID" for the camera SSID. As you know the serial number under the drones does no good to get the camera SSID because DJI gives no more support for the drones we have. In your video about taking apart the egg camera, I noticed there was no SSID sticker. I don't think reflashing is going to help me get my camera view back? Do you know of any wifi scanning app that WILL find the hidden SSID or other way to get the right camera SSID? If you do I'll buy you a 12 cup POT OF COFFEE never mind a cup of it. I've tried WIFI ANALYZER, FING, one called ACRYLIC (something) and I forgot the other app.
However if I do ever find the right camera SSID and still no camera feed...I have 3 questions for your great video so I can flash it.
# 1) I have the P2V (not vision +), my video module is the 3rd board down inside the egg camera (which is the camera I have). Is it the same exact video module as the one in the P2Vision+ board you have?
# 2)Where did you get the TTL to USB adapter with the POGO clamps and the rest of clamping stuff that you have in your video?
# 3)Where did you get that window from that popped up in the lower left part of your screen at about 4:00 in your video?
I tried contacting OKSTUV weeks ago but he didn't reply.
Thanks again for your willingness to help me.

Does the camera show the green light on power on, i have seen these cameras fail to transmit the SSID due to a faulty board, I keep a few spare for when the repair is needed.

Well that depends, if we can the SSID and get a successful bind and it shows no video feed then the reflash will be needed

Do you know of any wifi scanning app that WILL find the hidden SSID or other way to get the right camera SSID

If you have tried several apps and none show the SSID (its hidden remember) then another app wont work, the only time i see the SSID not showing is after an unsuccessful binding ensure the range extender isnt powered on when searching for the SSID

? If you do I'll buy you a 12 cup POT OF COFFEE never mind a cup of it.

thats a big reward, so lets see what we can do with the advice above

No the v and v plus are different boards, the video linked was wrong ive now edited the post and linked the video below

# 2)Where did you get the TTL to USB adapter with the POGO clamps and the rest of clamping stuff that you have in your video?

Search ebay etc for TTL to USB adapter and ensure it has 5v jumper the clanmp pins are linked in the video description
# 3)Where did you get that window from that popped up in the lower left part of your screen at about 4:00 in your video?

Just realised i linked the wrong video, i have now edited my post sorry about that, not sure what window you mean, but ignore that as it was the wrong video

I found an old Windows laptop and I updated it to Windows 10. I was using a Chromebook. I finally found the inSSider Wi-Fi scanner and got the right Mac address for the camera. I tried binding it again with the range extender. Every time I try to delete the wrong camera Mac it just keeps coming right back even though I put the right Mac address in. The range extender won't connect to the right Mac. Though the extender connects to the wrong MAC I now get telemetry, extender icon, battery % for extender and drone battery, sd card icon, I can adjust the camera tilt from the controller dial, # of satellites. I can hear the camera button click but still have no video feed. I didn't have all those things before I put in the right MAC address. It connects to the wrong MAC but give all that stuff it didn't before. I'm going back to Vegas for a week in 5 days and wanted to bring my drone. I read some where the SD card has to be formatted in the camera before it will give a video feed, is that true? I didn't format it. I don't know how to do it. The manual didn't say how. I'm draining the extender, then I'll recharge it again and try again to see if I get video feed. Thanks for your reply.
