Extending range P3S

I've been searching the forum for some time now for the various ways to extend the range of my bird. I've decided the first step would be to modify my controller but I'm having difficulty deciding which antenna to buy. I don't want to buy the cheapest only to spend more later for better.
Should I go with the itelite max range dbs antenna or the cheaper Argtech paddle antennas. Is the dbs antenna twice as good for twice the cost? Any brands that is better than others? Your input is greatly appreciated.

I have used them all, argtek, alpha panels & now have just installed the dbs and in my honest opinion the dbs may cost double of the other two mods, but it is definitely worth the extra cost I am getting serious range with my p3s now

I'll be honest most of the good cinematic shots are in the middle of nowhere with very little interference
And if you fly high enough the. Range triples

I'm getting alittle over 3000 feet away with it now. But would like alittle more security in connection when going those distances.
