This is all research PR for continued funds etc.

Every year or so we hear of ‘breakthroughs’ which if they ever leave the lab will take a decade(s) to be commercialized.

PV cells will never deliver runtime current and only be used to charge batteries for later use.

Yeah, the PV industry is full of these kinds of gimmicks. Solar roadway idea that just won't die, Solar paint for cars, Solar fabric.

If they could get a legit 26% they would put them on houses and in fields not on drones
