Drone Battery Technology

It's hard to take this seriously.

There are universities and corporations spending LOTS of money conducting research in these areas. Tesla Motors for example.
Who doesn't want more power density?

How are you funded?
What are your key areas of expertise?

Just curious.

Thanks for your reply. We are a US based battery manufacturer for the Broadcast video market. We are interested in learning more about the drone user community, what is used and how as we are looking at developing new battery technology for this field. Just getting my feet wet in this area. I apologize for the crudeness of the survey and how basic it seems at this stage. Thank you for your interest.

It's really simple... just about everyone wants lower cost, more flight time, and less charge time.

The problem with asking on this site is most of the Phantom's use a proprietary LiPo battery. An exception is the 1.. It uses the more generic or typical hobby LiPo with external balancing connectors, etc.
The P2's use a 2P3S (11.1V) configuration This 'intelligent' battery incorporates additional h/w and s/w to help make it safe for the 'every (wo)man' by performing balancing, over charge / discharge, and short circuit protection, etc. It utilizes serial communication for authentication and various functions and this is the sticking point for 3rd party vendors.

The P3s are using a 4S config. minimum with 2P also likely (not positive) to achieve the capacity. These too have the 'intelligent' features.
A similar story for DJI's Inspire-1 battery.

There is nothing really specific about drone users that is going to help you imo, it's batteries in general. You need to reinvent the wheel here from powering smartphones to drones and every single device in the world that uses batteries. It's a breakthrough in science we need not a rehash of tech that's already available to just give us an extra 5%
