Do I need to Calibrate after linking new R/C?

Looking for some advise. I have a Phantom 3 Pro that is working fine. Firmware was updated to 1.10.90 along with IMU calibration and compass calibration and it has been flying without any issues.

My original R/C had to be sent to DJI due to internal issues with the plastic (I'll save this story for another thread).
I have another older remote and have performed a firmware update to v. 1.8.0 (no problem) I then linked it to my phantom and all appears to be working well.
My question is do I now need to perform another IMU and compass calibration before flying with my new R/C?

Calibrating the imu, compass only needs to be done when something happens to/with the aircraft. Linking a new RC shouldn't have any effect on them.

Actually, it sometimes does hurt.
Calibrating a perfectly working compass is unnecessary and linking a controller would have made no difference to the compass system.
