Hi fellow Phantom pilots, just made a basic tutorial on how to operate the DJI Phantom 3 Pro. It is mainly aimed at new pilots:)

Thank you for the comments everyone. This is my first tutorial, so if you have any improvements, I would be glad to input them into the next tutorial;) Might do one on the Phantom 3 standard sometime soon☺️ I was going to make one for the Tello drone I have, but when I tried to make an account on the Tello Pilots website, I got told I was a spam:rolleyes: Update: Tello tutorial is uploaded:)

Nice Job!.

The compass calibration every time? Is not recommended by the majority.

This link is posted under crash and flyaway assistance on the Mavic Forum

It took me a few years to comprehend when to or not.

@Meta4, many times has said, there is no such thing as a flyaway.
Basically the compass was calibrated when shouldn't have been done, RTH Fails!

Whats cool about these forums?
If any member has corrections it will be posted.👍:)👌

Ok, @RodPad, thanks for the suggestions. I forgot to mention that the compass must ONLY be calibrated when no metal objects (phones, keys) etc, are around the drone, and only needs to be calibrated whenever you move to a new location or the prompt occurs in the app. I probably don't actually need to perform a calibration before every flight:) (Had a bad experience years ago).

@Daniel Mclean
Thanks for your reply, I just have this issue from reading so many lost birds, because of the compass.
Flight logs, good GPS at take off, Signal loss from the remote, or Pilot triggers RTH, If it still has good GPS signal it still uses the compass.

I been on these forums a long time.

The Mavic site is busy like this one was. I read people sitting in there vehicle with the bird on the roof and fly it.
I haven't read a reply in those threads that said, don't do that!

Anyways, that's was my issue. :)👍👌

Hi, @brigerdrones, have subscribed to your channel and enabled comments on my channel. Accidentally disabled it😉

When you understand what compass calibration actually does, you realise that there's no need to recalibrate the compass, before each flight, or when you move to a new location.
And also 99% of the time that you see a prompt to calibrate the compass.
In that situation the correct action would be to switch off and move the drone away from the magnetic interference that the compass is warning you about.

The first post in the thread linked in post #5 explains all you need to know about the compass and dispels some of the common myths about it.

Hi, @Meta4, thank you for the advice👍

Hi, everyone, soon I am going to make a better tutorial on the phantom 3 pro, as I feel the old one is really a bit sub-par😉
(Inadequate compass calibration instructions etc.) Better one coming soon!
