Isn't this kind of admission that the non-government drones are spying on users?

Its not going to matter much longer because its just a matter of time before DJI only sells to Governments anyway. DJI cant wait to rid itself of the hobbyist that have supported them since the beginning.

Can you link to your source for this?

There is no secrets that a DJI drone can give the Chinese that their Military and Government spying agencies have not gotten already from their multi billion dollar satellites, and their relationships with OUR (USA's) Military contractors. Do you really think the data a DJI Drone gets is better than a Chinese military asset out in space. As for your privacy, you lost all of that when the USA Government passed the War Powers Act after 9/11. As for the rest of your privacy once the internet and 3G cell service came into existence that was gone too. Now your phone, car, home security system, Alexa, Siri, Your smart TV and Refrigerator spy on you. Your Privacy, Security, is gone, the blame, well its 'us'

The US has the BEST satellite technology on the planet.
So... Why do we still put humans in harm's way on the ground (CIA, etc.), fly military spy drones (Global Hawk, etc.) and [still fly] the U2 (now called the ER2)?

Because it is not about better but rather more.
You can never have enough 'intelligence'' about your adversaries.

It's a win-win-win for the Chinese...We buy these (DJI) drones from them, we fly them all over the globe and in close proximity to the earth and all upon it, and then make the data available to them knowingly (YouTube, etc) and allegedly unknowingly.

I don't mind as long as I can have fun. The paranoid can fly home built if they are truly concerned.
