Since the FAA still hasn't charged anyone for commercial use without an exemption even though there's plenty of it going on, I doubt they would bother to set up a sting operation.
The FAA knows how ridiculous the 333 requirements are.
That's why they are bringing in the new rules to make things a bit more realistic.
