Denham Springs to Ban Drones

City councilmen in Denham Springs are hustling to pass a new ordinance prohibiting drones from flying over private property in time for the gift-giving season.

I wonder when Florida is going to pass the law that says hot air balloons are not allowed to fly over my property without my permission. And before anybody says "yeah but they are over 500 ft" that is often not true. To be honest - I really don't mind them at all - but I have seen more hot air balloons flying around me than drones.... AND people tend to have high end camera equipment with them on these balloon rides.

Look - I don't think people should be flying drones 30 ft over someone's yard - but how hard is it going to be to enforce a person flying 150 to 200 ft over the edge of someones yard to get to a more interesting subject? Have you ever looked at your drone at 200 ft and thought it was much closer or farther away from you than you thought (without looking at the DJI go app data that is)?

Just a bunch of councilmen trying to look like their doing something....

Big surprise. Senator Dan Claitor tried to get "drones" banned from taking pictures on private property, now Denham Springs which is in his district is going the local ordinance route.

Buuut balloons are not SCARY DRONES with like MORE THAN ONE PROPELLER.
