Had a good crash the other day. Motors shut off, phantom flipped over at 60 feet and landed upside down on grass. No power. Opened it up and some of the connections came loose and I had to solder them back on. Powered back up. Endless yellow blinking. Hooked up to Software Assisant and updated software. Still endless yellow blinking. It flies fine in ATTI mode. Finally noticed that there was no GPS. Opened phantom back up and took out the GPS unit. Noticed on the backside a cracked module.

Great. Looking around, it seems to cost $154 to replace that whole unit. Anybody know of any alternatives or better deals?

I also take it that the lack of GPS is the reason for the endless, slow yellow blinking?

The stock DJI Phantom GPS is $150 to replace. It does not come with a compass. http://www.rc-fever.com/index.php?r...currency=USD&gclid=CPTy-7Wm-7kCFaNaMgodcwoAwQ

The standard Naza GPS is around $120, it does come with a compass. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-DJI-NAZ...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c73120652

For $45 you might as well go all in and just upgrade to the F450 frame. It is fairly straight forward to tear out the Phantom parts and do the conversion. Just a little soldering. You could probably even sell the Phantom for parts and make up about 30% of the cost.

I would upgrade if I was in your position. The F450 frame give you a lot more wiggle room as far as upgrades go.

Yes, the yellow blink means the mode is in ATTi, because not GPS found. You can flight normally as in ATTi mode, but no RTH or HL functions won't work. Options: 1) keep without GPS, ATTI mode only 2) Buy a new GPS (Phantom stock or DJI standard)

$154 !!!  Good God No !!! Should cost no more than $3 maybe $5 tops!

Try here - http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...45451135.html&cv=11032041&af=cj_3836173&vd=30

At the end of the day it is nothing more than a 1575R-A antenna !!!

Ah, so if you can just replace the antenna then yeah $3.00 is a much better deal. It does look pretty well glued on to that board.

So see if you can remove it first.
