Controllers won't register on software - help!

Hi,
Recently bought a phantom and followed the assembly videos to a t and everything was going well until I reached the stage where, once the software was installed, the controls weren't registering i.e. when I'd move the sticks around, this wouldn't display on the software. I assume this problem is what's also preventing the motors from starting.

The software is registering the type of controller and I'm able to calibrate the controls on the actually controller so I don't think it's a complete dud.

Has anyone had the same/similar problem? Any advice would be SO appreciated!

did you check to make sure your controller and phantom are on same frequency?
