Yeah my iPhone connects to it also. But I do have access to an android tablet now so I'll try that. Any apps that don't cost $10 since I'll be using it once probably.I picked up a Camera unit from ebay for $125.00...should be here by Tuesday next week. I also tried about 15 different apps for iPhone..none of them seem to pick up the phantom as a network. But luckily I have the android app that finds it perfectly. What I find funny is that my iphone finds the Phantom Network and can connect to it, but the apps don't show it at all.

Hey Guys,
mI've heard a lot on bricked stuff due to updates. And that is possible here as well ( I guess? ) , I believe the update only allows you to use extender as a network, But let's look at it from a technical standpoint, and see what is the problem ( camera, or extender or both )
First
You need to download a wifi analyzer ( some are free ) I use ( android InSSIDer app 10$ ) but any will due as long as it can trace hidden wifi networks.
Ok
Open analyzer app ( we looking for a 2.4ghz signature starting with ( 60:60:1f:??:??:?? ) ?'s are your personal Mac addy numbers last 6 digits, 60:60:1f is DJI's unique signature ) ok With fc200 camera set to wifi on, turn ONLY phantom on, no Tx, No extender. Don't worry bout the flashing yellow lights ( means no Tx signal ) now scan for wifi ( check for signal and signal strength ) strength should be almost spiked! If you see the signature ( 60:60:1f gimmick ) and it is strong, then your camera wifi board is ok, and would point all fingers to extender issue ( you can test extender wifi with analyzer as well ) just turn on extender test for 60:60:1f:??:??:?? ) should match number on rear of extender, and should be fairly strong. Still won't tell you if it's transmitting though, but possibly a new extender will fix the problem, if camera all looks good in analyzer. But test those and let us know!
Take care, Fly safe.
The problem is..that the DJI IOS app makes you update before you can do much of anything in the app itself. This time I just left it on the screen while I did a test on the video feed. It is strange as the Android app does not even want to upgrade the extender. The whole issue I have is that I use the IOS app on iPhone to fpv ,along with the Goggle/fpv unit from HobbyKing...I simply strap my phone on the end once hovering. Other than that I use Litchi or DJI Ultimate App on the Android devices. Yes DJI really needs to take responsibility for bricking these units, it is costing people money.

board ) use new extender, problem solved. It is somehow causing burnout in the cameras!
? Is this only re500 extenders doing this or are the re700 doing it as well?
I've upgraded all 9 of mine all to re700 extenders and have NEVER been asked to update?
So is it possible only the re500 extenders are the problem?
Please let me know?

Both of mine are RE700's...I can tell you it took out the wifi board on mine...everything else works fine...luckily I had another camera...that the wifi was working but camera board went out. It is coming from DJI Vision ios app, the latest version...It did not ask to update until last week when I updated the ios app on my phone....The android app never asked to update and works fine. That makes a bit more sense, as I'm finding a LOT of mainboard burnout, as well as wifi burnout on the plus!
So seem to be similar burnouts in both camera units!
Like a self destruct protocol!
Hummmmmmmm!
I'll have to dig deeper, which version app is this coming from? iOS vision app only?

I am using the same Re700 and replaced just the wifi board and antennas from other camera that had a bad camera board. BTW The version that is causing the issue the latest 1.0 58, dated june 13,2016. I plugged my iPhone into computer using ITunes, to see if had an earlier backup...I don't and I looked in the store and it's only showing 1.0.58 for download...going to research to see how I can get back to earlier version. It seems DJI has moved all the support pages from their main website for the P1 & P2 series. I am not sure if I can use the video link in this thread as I have uninstalled and reinstall the latest version a couple of times. So you replaced the camera but used same extender?
Please let me know, Thanks!

Mine were both caused by Android app. After damage was done I tried it with other Android tablets and with iOS app- still did not work. That makes a bit more sense, as I'm finding a LOT of mainboard burnout, as well as wifi burnout on the plus!
