Compass calibration

In manual compass section it states always keep module away from the magnet.i know what the module is but where and what is the magnet also at what step in start up do you calibrate compass?

Any strong magnetic field will mess up calibration or strong signal sources like cell towers.

I made the mistake of trying to calibrate my P2 near a Yamaha near filed speaker monitor with hefty magnets.

Any source of magnetic fields. This includes high voltage power lines!

Yep, "the magnet" refers to magnets/magnetic fields in general. Not one on the quad.

Hi,

How far away from power lines do you have to be to fly your FC40 without possible interference to the compass/TX?

Reason being, I have main high voltage power lines running at the back of my house, about 200-300 metres. But there's a small playground just next to my house which I was planning to fly in. Any chance of interference/possible fly aways if I flew there?
