Any experience with those carbon fiber gimbal guards causing any issues with the compass on the P2, P2V, or P2V+?

I have CF landing gear, no issue, I don't see why CF would interfere.
What does the guard look like?

I haven't received any reports of the CF interfering with the compass, and it shouldn't. I have been flying with my compass attached directly to some experimental carbon fiber legs for a month now and have had no difficulty. I fly with a carbon fiber camera guard attached to them as well.

Thanks. So far so good, then. In general aviation, carbon fiber materials (fuselage, wings, etc.) as in the Lancair Legacy does present issues. So, thought I would ask around before mounting the typical plate between the gear legs.

For those that don't know, carbon fiber is a conductor.

Conductive yes, but since there's no voltage through the CF, it can't interfere or mess with the compass. Otherwise CF copters like the S800 wouldn't be made mostly of CF. Interesting topic though.

Good point about all of the other carbon fiber UAV's out there without any issues.

Yes, I think the question has been answered.
