Can the display be cleared when clicking waypoints?

When the waypoint program is enabled, the right side of the screen is filled with the waypoint counter, settings icon etc. but covers half the camera image and some telemetry. Once the waypoint marking is started, can the display be removed while making the waypoints clicks but bring the display back at the end, so it can be recorded and allow the trip to begin. I know that once the recorded trip begins, you can hide the display but the hide button isn't there during the marking of the waypoints, thanks....Ken.
