As 805hd says, your range will be worse. If you replace the antennas both on the drone and the receiver, and both have the same polarization (left or right polarized), you might get the same, slightly better, or worse range, depending on the quality of the antenna and how the antennas are oriented wrt each other. I have seen many "impressive looking" 5.8GHz antenna with really poor perfromance. The real issue is that it's pretty hard to find a good way to mount the circular antenna on the drone, so it would be a lot of work for probably the same or worse range
