Camera zoom?

Has anyone else seen this? Whenever I push the button to auto focus, the camera seems to zoom in! I have a P4P using a crystal sky.

I've been waiting for zoom to be implemented in the P4P for a while. Mavic and P4 have had zoom for a while by pinch and spread on the screen, which allows you to zoom in and out by using the iPad screen for the zoom function. This works when capturing video in 1080, basically doing a sensor crop for a lossless digital zoom. You're saying the zoom works differently in the P4P, which seems a bit odd that they would change the method. I wonder when this was added?

Yes, it's not a camera zoom, more a image zoom on screen to help you see what the camera is focused on.

How much does it zoom in. Does the screen tell you the zoom X factor like on P4/Mavic?

Oh that. That's not a zoom, only a focusing aid. It does nothing to the SD recording for zoom.

So it appears DJI still hasn't provide the same lossless 2X zoom that's included with P4 and Mavic. This must have something to do with the larger 1" sensor as to why they don't support zoom like their cheaper drones..
